I am myself; and not someone else; and I am here, such as I am; and this necessarily occurs now. WHAT MUST I DO?
The first thing the is obligatory, and the only thing that is obligatory in a absolute fashion, is my relationship with God. I remember God, and in and through this remembrance, all is well, because this remembrance is God’s. Everything else lies in His hands; all that comprises the world and life.
But what does the remembrance comprise so that it can be fully what is ought to be?
First of all, emptiness and my heart.
Emptiness: for I am plunged in the earthly maya. when I think of God and utter His Name, maya necessarily disappears; the emptiness that results from this is serenity towards the world and resignation towards God.
And in this emptiness, there is my heart. When I think of God and utter His Name; my heart necessarily awakens; and this Wake is made of certitude of God and trust in His goodness.
The Name in emptiness: this is the presence of God
The invocation in the heart: this is my union in this presence
THIS IS WHAT MUST I DO; I WHO CAN BE NONE OTHER THAN MYSELF
WHO AM HERE AND NOT ELSEWHERE; WHO CANNOT LEAVE THIS NOW THAT IS MY DESTINY
